WHAT IS CLICKER TRAINING?
Clicker training is a versatile, reward-based system of training
based on the science of behavioural psychology. Although the methods
used are scientifically based, they can be mastered by anyone, including
children. Clicker training is great fun for both handler and dog,
and usually produces a variety of behavioural benefits besides the
trained exercises. Dogs trained in this way become happier, calmer,
more confident and more responsive to their owners.
Clicker training is a hands-off method which is suitable for disabled
persons; in fact, it has enabled many people who would not be able
to handle conventionally to re-enter the world of dog sports.
Although it isn't necessary to know much of the theory behind clicker
training to enjoy the method, most people reach a stage where they
feel they would like to know more. You can find articles about the
theory behind clicker training in our articles
